Before you compare any lease special, from any store, get these lines in writing:

• The exact model year, trim and stock number the special is built on
• Term and miles per year, and the cost per mile over the allowance
• Due at signing split into first payment, acquisition fee, doc fee, registration, tax and any cash toward the car
• Selling price (capitalized cost) before any cost reduction
• Money factor and residual, so you can see whether the rate matches the program
• Any dealer installed package or product on the car, and whether it is optional
• Whether the special needs a loyalty, conquest or other incentive you may not qualify for

Get a second written offer on the same car

You can keep a Newport Beach offer in hand and still compare it. The practical options:
